High Mileage, and Driving in the Fast Lane With An Empty Tank – Does That Sound Like You?

March 5, 2011 — Leave a comment

Today I was driving to work and realized a few things all at once. Take a look at this picture I took…

Honda Dashboard

In viewing this picture, I realized…

  • I am 213kms away from the 300,000 km mark
  • I was driving in the fast lane and didn’t realize the flow of traffic was moving in excess of the speed limit (I’m not lying)
  • My gas tank was empty (and I managed only 579km on one tank)
  • My windshield washer fluid is empty
  • My Dash is dusty
  • I took a picture with my iPhone while I was driving

In light of the above…

  • Do you ever feel like you are worn out and about to reach your wit’s end?
  • Do you ever feel like life is moving at a pace that’s faster than you realize/want?
  • Do you ever feel like you are running on empty (spiritually, physically, emotionally)?
  • Do you ever feel like you ignored the warning signs?
  • Do you see the dirt in your life?
  • Do you realize it when you break the law?

Just take a moment and consider these things! Then take a moment and ask God to renew and restore you.

“Restore us, O LORD, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!” – Lamentations 5:21

If you want, leave a prayer request in the comments and I’ll pray for you :)
